We Finally Made It

It has been so long since I have written because SO MUCH has happened! We tied the knot (for the second time) on 13 December 2008! It was amazing and the time spent with family and friends was such a blessing. Now that we are settling into life, I will try to do better to keep you all posted. ---Side note, if anyone has any pictures from our wedding, please send them to me. I am working on a Wedding/Honeymoon video. I'll send copies if I ever get it done!

Hanging with the Morgan Family

I spent some time with my sister's family and went to their local street fair. We carried the boys in carriers and they were soooo cute! I brought my niece an Optimus Prime mask and she was adorable trying to learn to say it.... Octinus Prine.... so close. The boys are 5 months old and so fun. Smiles and laughs....it was a fun time. I hope you can all make it in December to meet them.

We went to Young's Dairy last week and checked out the animals and got some GREAT ice cream. Angie loved the animals, even if she was a little afraid of a few of them. It was pretty fun.

I spoke to the Holiday Inn Express in Bluffton, Indiana and got a group wedding rate. If you tell them you are with the Reynolds/Rodriguez Wedding your room will be 79.99 a night no matter how many nights you would like to stay. I am for sure reserving 10 rooms ( all are double queens I think except for one is a double king for the Jenkins family...thought Micah might need the few extra inches) for the night before and the night of the wedding, but anyone can use the rate as long as other rooms are still available. For the 10 rooms already requested (the rooms they have reserved for us) you have to make your reservations at least 30 days in advance or by 12 November. The toll free number is 1-800-HOLIDAY or the local number (which you may want to call to decrease confusion) is 1-260-824-4455. Jocelyn is the name of the lady who set up the deal for me if you have any problems you can ask for her. The address of the place is 1782 North Main Street, Bluffton, IN if you wanted to look it up. It is a newer place and doesn't show up on all websites. They have a pool/ whirlpool/ continental breakfast... I hope this works for you guys! If you have any other questions, please give me a call or email. I am sending my info to them tomorrow so they should have it all set up soon if you are super type A and want to reserve early.

I checked flights on Epedia from LAX to Dayton, coming in on Friday and leaving on Sunday and they are running about 230 for 1 adult. Its 434 to fly into Fort Wayne and about 287 into Indianapolis.

I will make some calls about hotels next week. I will try to get info on a few hotels in Bluffton, Indiana, but I am leaning towards the Holiday Inn. I plan on trying to reserve 10 rooms for the night before and the night of the wedding. If you think we will need more or you would like other info on things in the area, PLEASE, let me know!!! Feel free to call anytime or email. You can get my number from Jeremiah's mom or sisters or from my parents. It's getting close!!!!! Let me know what I can do to help you guys make plans!!!

Celebrating my Grandpa's Birthday

My mom suprized me by bringing my

grandparents along with my dad and my dog. It was wonderful not to have to drive to Indiana and back today too. We took my grandparents over to the AF museum for a bit and then a quick driving tour of base before dinner. My mom brought a fruit pizza (delicious) to suprize my grandpa for his birthday which we all didn't get to celebrate last week. It was so good to see them and I hope they come back to visit soon!

Fun in Santa Maria

We spent a chunk of our time in Santa Maria with Crystal and her family. We went to Pisomo Beach and played in the waves and found tons of Sand Dollars. Jeremiah found a wetsuit on sale and now he is the proud owner of one. We painted part of his siter's fence, hit another casino (my little gambler won money again), caught a movie, spend more time with Jeremiah's parents, and went to Disneyland. I have never been to Disneyland before and I really enjoyed it. Spacemountain really was the coolest ride ever. It was fun to see Jeremiah's nephew Landon taking it all in. We had such a wonderful time and we are so excited to have everyone visit us in December.

Grandpa in Bakersfield

We made quick stop in Bakersfield to see Grandpa Henry,who looked very well for just being sick. He is still a joker! We even played Dominos with Pam and Ernie....which Jeremiah won. It was a short but nice stop!

Jenkins in Modesto

We got to hang out for a weekend in Modesto with Jeremiah's sister Stephanie and her family. Jeremiah's parents got to join us as well. It was fun to spend time with all of them. Jeremiah tormented his nieces and nephews, we played Rock Band, celebrated an early birthday for Adrianne, played in the pool, and had a wonderful time. We look forward to seeing them again in December as well!

Reno in the River

While vising in NV we took a short trip up to Reno to hopefully see my great friend Katie while she was haning out there for a wedding. Unfourtunately she was catching a much needed pre-wedding nap, but we are so glad we went. We went down to the Riverwalk which is right downtown thinking maybe it would be like the one in San Antonio...well we were wrong. It was so cool. They have it set up so that you can play in the river and ride down the rapids. I begged Jeremiah to get in with me and then we ended up having tons of fun! You have to watch the video of him coming down the rapids. He starts towards the top left and then eventually passes the rapid right in front of me. He is too cute. He totally got in just to make me happy, but I am glad that he enjoyed himself in the end. The setting was so beautiful: mountains, river rapids, beautiful park, fun downtown, and one really cute mexican. Love you all and you should all go if you ever find yourself in Reno!

Aunt Angie in NV

I am so glad we stopped in to visit Jeremiah's Great Aunt Angie during our visit. The view as we swung around Lake Tahoe on the way there was amazingly beautiful. She was so funny and welcoming. It was very nice of her husband and her to keep us and feed us for a day! She took Jeremiah gambling....the start of something I think! But he did very well and won a whole 7 dollars. We enjoyed listening to stories about her childhood and Jeremiah's grandmother's. As well as their funny stories about the her and her husband as they were young and just married. I'm so glad we got to spend time with them....and their crazy little dog!

Our first stop on our very own California adventure was to see our great friends Aimee and Job Morales and their family at Travis Air Force Base, which in Fairfiel, CA. It was so great to see them; although I did ruin most of our fun having plans.... I got a horrible GI bug the first night, spent most of the second day in the ER (a nice hospital though), and I'm sure I was not the most exciting company for dinner that night or a quick coffee drop off in the morning. They, however, were wonderful and all looked so well. Aimee is such a great mom and friend and the rest of the family is just as sweet and wonderful as she is. The best news is that Job has agreed to do our wedding (it will be his first and he will be amazing.) We are so excited to see them again in December!

Family Reunion

Today I got to go to one of the many family reunions this season. I think I look forward to this one the most each year. We meet in a cleared out woods that was an old homestead of our family. We eat delicious food, we go on a hay ride (this time we went to an old cemetery where some of relatives are), we play games (like water balloon toss), and catch up on family news. I can't wait to take Jeremiah next year. Everyone is looking forward to having him there and those that haven't met him are so excited to.

Everyone was also asking about wedding plans....wow, I am totally not ready... ha ha ha...

4 years ago after I first graduated from Saint Francis some friends from school and I began getting together and camping each summer. I didn't get to go last year since I was perma-camping in Afghanistan. This year was so fun and it was great to get to spend time with them again. I haven't seen Becky in 2yrs and the others I haven't gotten to see since I returned in Sept! Jovan has applied to go get a Master's Degree, Maria is still doing awesome in PT school in Chicago, Becky is working in a lab for the company that makes those 5 HOUR ENGERY drinks, and Mathew-Baker is going to be working as an activity coordinator at Geneva College in PA while he does his Master's Degree work there...... everybody is well and I am so excited to take Jeremiah with me next year! I'll put up more pics as I get them from my buds!

This is the Morgan Family (minus Gabe). So really it is my sister and her kids. The onesies were made by my sisters Bible study friends...they really were cute. It is a good thing they made a lot of them because the boys keep shooting green streaks of poo out of the top of the diapers up their clothes....Tristen did that to me right after the picture of me laying down holding him was taken....it was a close call! Arsalie is flirting with the camera like always and then there is my pretty sister holding one of the boys....I wanna say it is Titus, but it is hard to tell when they are not side by side! Tristen is the "bigger" of the two, meaning he is a little chunk!

First Dress Fitting

Last weekend I went with my mom, sister, and niece to my very first dress fitting....and I survived. I was REALLY anxious for some reason, but everything went great. My sister was a huge help and it was great having my mom there. We even picked out a dress and accessories for Arsalie. She is so cute. Here we are before the changing began and then Arsalie with a few of the dresses she tried on. No sneak peaks of my dress, but I loved it and am getting even more excited. I had to exchange the size, luckily for my ego I needed a smaller one, but it will be here in plenty of time. Next fitting in October....

Cliff Robertson

Tonight I volunteered for the National Aviation Hall of Fame induction Presidential dinner. I escorted Cliff Robertson, oscar winner and most recently known as Uncle Ben in the new Spiderman movies. He is the sweetest man and I really had a wonderful time. We got there late, due to some miscommunication with a friend of his, and when we got there the GOLD table he was hosted at asked me to stay and sit with them.....wow-wee.... front and center.....with all the big wigs from Lockheed Martin.......what an awesome time. This is one of the perks of volunteering; you never know what is going to happen. Yes, I did have to sit and wait in a hotel lobby for 3hrs and got hit on my 2 very sweet yet scandalous men about 70-80yrs old.....just another story to keep life interesting.... love you guys!!!

Too Much Fun

We had such a good time a the AF Museum that we continued with our viewing pleasure at the Air Force One ---AKA Presidential Hanger, and also the hanger with all the experimental planes the AF has come up with overtime..... pretty amazing..... not only that... we got to walk through the old retired AF Ones! The most recent one retired in 1998 was really not as plush as I thought it would be. I'm sure the new one is super amazing. As we walked through we talked about how crazy neat those planes must have been back in the day. The crazy planes on the research side were so cool too. I am amazed at the technology that we really had way back in the 50's and 60's. Those planes looked futuristic even for today! My dad had to take a picture by the X-15 which was the fastest plane when he was growing up. There are pictures of us standing on the old AF Ones and one of a full Presidential Hanger. The last is a picture of the air field at the base from atop one of the hills nearby that has a State Park dedicated to the Wright Brothers...one of many in the area.

Day 2 was WW2 on so we hit a lot of cool planes and then some missiles and space rockets too. We also saw an IMAX film of a pilot who was playing in a war game in Vegas. It was so cool! It was just like we were flying in the cockpit with him! Tons of fun and a great break from all the walking!!!!

So Dad and Jordan got the full, hands-on tour on day two! Dad found the Starfire he wanted to see and I got a sweet picture of him. Jordan as always made great faces as he "flew" the fighter... In one plane the 2 of them barely fit and on the other you can hardly see them!!!!

My Dad and Jordan came up to spend a couple of days and to check out the AF Museum and the Base itself. When they got here we got to go up in the base tower and got a personal tour from high above base. The flight line was so pretty from that high up and fun to watch the few planes running in and out. Then to the planes and history of flight... pretty cool!

So no pictures this time... just a few words on what I/we've been up to. I have been working, dogsitting 2 devil dogs (grrrr), horseback riding a lot, planning baby showers, dog park outings, and a military tattoo party, I started riding my bike to work (over 7miles both ways), and babysitting all the time... whew... how I still feel bored is beyond me. Jeremiah is busy too. He is actually riding his bike to work too; his car is out of commision. He has been playing a bunch of ball and hanging out with friends. The most exciting news as of late is that we have picked out invitations and actually did it together. It was fun to choose together. I am sending it to my sister for proofing so I don't send out wrong spelled words to something that sounds funny (thanks for the advice Crystal!). We are getting our tickets for our trip to CA in August and getting pretty excited to see our family and each other again. It is a little momentous since it will be our last trip to see each other before he comes to stay in November.... I am getting so excited!!! Love you all and miss you!

Early Valentine's Day Present

I am the most spoiled man in the world. Lydia decided it was alright for us to buy some new things. Originally a new tv was supposed to be next year's valentine's day gift. We went looking and found everything for cheap. When I get back in November she said she was going to buy me a gps system as an engagement/i'm so excited you're here present. The one we decided on was actually on sale. Bought that today. The gps is pretty awesome. It's something I definitely needed because I don't know where anything is.

Lydia and I had a wonderful time riding. Her new thing is riding bareback because its a challenge for her. She taught me how to gallop on a horse. It was awesome to feel how powerful horses are.

Mothers' Day

I spent the weekend with my family in Indiana. I got to see my grandparents and spend some time with my sister's family. I even had time to work on some wedding plans. It is that time to start lining up caterers, DJ's, photographers, and things like that. I have a day of appointments scheduled for Jeremiah and I when he visits in a week and a half.... it will be fun to finally be making real plans! This is a picture of my whole family (except for my very favorite...) My parents, Greg & Louise, my brother and his girlfriend are sitting on the floor, Jordan & Corrine, my sister and her husband and their kids, Gabe & Danielle with Arsalie, Tristen, & Titus. Whew... Then there is me and just enough room for one more.... it will be so nice to finally have Jeremiah there to spend time with us when we are together as a family. Tristen and Titus were born 17 April 2008. Tristen @ 9:50pm at a whopping 4.5lbs; Titus came out breach @ 10:07pm at an exact 4lbs. Here I am holding Tristen on the 19th. Everyone is doing well. Danielle is doing a great job with them, but since I do love my sister, I will not post a picture of her here quite yet (she is up almost constantly with feedings and other baby care X 2). I will have more pictures soon. They look quite a bit alike. They have blonde fuzz hair and sound like little kittens or puppies when they begin to cry. Too cute. They are staying a couple of extra days in the hospital just to be sure they begin to maintain their weight. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers for my sister, her family, and the new additions.

Spring Finally

I spent the day cleaning up my yard trying to liven up my back patio. Little tiny plants are starting to grow and the hanging decoration my mom gave me helps out too. The island is beautiful. We drove it all the way from the north end to the south. It only takes about 2.5 hrs. The water is amazing. These are all from the North end and Okuma, which is a military resort on the NW end.

The day the lockdown was lifted we headed out to see the island. They have an amazing aquarium here. I have never seen such huge animals in my life! The biggest Manta Ray was about 8-9 ft across at least and there were whale sharks in there too.... one was gianormous! The dolphin show was fun too; this one flipped and hit the ball with its tail!

Well up and Jeremiah is making breakfast....delicious. It and has been cloudy since I arrived here, but the temp is great and the company is even better. Since yesterday was Friday and I do the Lent fasting thing, Jeremiah's friends Ai and Mark invited us over for sushi...it was awesome. I have never made my own sushi before...rolling it all together and mix and matching what goes in it...too cool and very delicious. After that we grabbed ice cream with them and watched a movie at their place. An awesome first day in Japan. Here are some pictures from this morning!

Visit from my Family

My dad's birthday is coming up and since I will be gone, my family came to visit me! I was surprised to see my sister and neice... it was a wonderful surprise! My sister is pretty pregnant but begining to feel miserable with that big belly! My niece was cute like always. My mom and dad were good and it was great to see them. My brother and his girlfriend came too. It was so wonderful having everyone...even if it was a challenge to find places for everyone to sleep! The pictures are of my niece playing IN my toy box...cheezing the smile of course. Jeremiah on the webcam in his flight suit. He played with my niece through the webcam and she just loved it. She loves to wave to him and he waves back. She keep pointing to him and telling me, "That's yours." Too cute.

Reynolds Family Update

I haven't posted anything in about a month so i'll do a quick recap and hit the high points...

The holidays passed and everyone made it through without too much damage! I got to see my new family and my own family as well, which was so wonderful. I got to see Jeremiah, but it is never for long enough. The next time I see him will be the end of February and I cannot wait! Since the holidays my cute little....well younger brother had a birthday (which was yesterday and I didn't even get a chance to call and say hi! Crazy work always getting in the way.) The other big...no... huge news was from my sister who is expecting in May. She called to tell me they found out the sex of the baby a few weeks ago....she said... "They are both boys..." dun dun dun. I had to reassure Jeremiah that twins run in her husbands family not mine, and we are all so very excited for them. Other than that, I am switching over to nights now. So if anyone calls, please don't be offended if I do not answer during the morning hours... that is prime sleeping time! At least that means Jeremiah and I will be working on kinda the same schedule! We picked a wedding venue, if you wanna check out the link along the side here to the right. And wedding plans are picking up. It helps me not miss Jeremiah so much and makes the wonderful day seem closer! Christmas in Cali

It was so great getting to meet and spend time with Jeremiah's family. It was a crazy trip of hello, nice to meet you, let's drive a million hours, have a couple of parties, and see you next time! But it was wonderful and everyone was so welcoming. I am looking forward to all the fun times we'll have with both of our families!

Christmas in IN

We had a wonderful whirlwind Christmas vacation with both of our families the last couple of weeks. Here are some pics from our day in Indiana. We cut down a Christmas tree...or at least we supervised. We had a great dinner. And we had great chill out time with my side of the family.

Christmas Cookies

A little late on this post! My mom, sister, and niece came over and made cookies with me a couple of weekends ago. It was nice having the company and we had a great time. Danielle and Arsalie played Jeremiah's piano and my favorite cookie is totally the only that looks like an angry oriental man... too funny.

Cold Walk

My grandfather has carved all of his grandkids' initials into a tree in one of the woods. We walked back after lunch (those of us who were crazy enough) to check in on it. If you look closely you may notice that someone's initials are backwards....yes it is mine! A great memory though....

Maxwell had a good Thanksgiving

Maxwell wore his new Winter collar to Thanksgiving. After lunch that day, I let Maxwell out of the garage to play on my grandparents farm and there were probably 10 cats sitting outside the garage door.... I have never seen so many cats be more freaked out all at one time. Max was so excited, but none of them wanted to play. After the mad rush, we noticed some of the cats made it up a tree to get away.....try 6 cats in one small tree right outside the room we all were sitting and talking in. It was pretty funny, and those cats were stuck up there for hours because they were too scared of Maxwell to come down!

So I made tons of different types of bread and rolls to take to my Grandmother's for Thanksgiving and only 1 thing turned out just totally terrible. These were probably my biggest success in the visual category and I heard they tasted pretty good too.

Saturday at the Park

I went to the park with my family this weekend. Arsalie walked Maxwell there all by herself. We checked out the slide and the other routine playground stuff, then I taught her how to roll down hills....which she tends to roll up not down. After chasing Max around a little we took a snack break before walking home! Great end to a great weekend.

This is my Aimee, well she really isn't mine, she is Job's Aimee, but I would claim her any day. She is the best friend anyone could have and I am lucky enough that she shares her life and experiences with me! This is an e-mail I recieved from Jeremiah when we were still stuggling with plans to get married and just to see each other!

"I just wanted to write to you before I went to bed. Thank you for waking up for me as early as you do, I know you're tired all the time because of me and just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate it.It's always so wonderful to see you. Don't let things get you down,just know in the end that we will be together and that God is watching over us and he is fighting our battles. Bottom line, we can't lose ifwe're living our lives for Him. If you ever have a worry just pray and know that I'll be doing the same. Remember that the bible says "pray without ceasing." Whether things are good or bad we need to pray. He will give us strength in our areas of weakness if we just pray.
